At Faith when we think "What do we want people to do?'" We think that it is important that people spend time in Worship, Service, Connection, and Equipping.
What we mean by that is that we think a growing Christian is worshipping with the body as well as with their lifestyle. We think that a growing Christian is connecting with others and living life together. We believe that a growing Christian needs to at some point engage in regular ways of serving the body and the community. We believe that along the way we all need to be further equipped to live the Christian life. We believe the Christian life, while infinitely complex finds a voice in these four areas: Worship, Service, Connection, and Equipping.
In the Youth Ministry as we have thought about this we want to take the approach where we ask youth to do one in each before doing to of any. That means do one time of Worship with the body before doing two times of connecting with others. Or three times of being equipped. When we say one time we mean one weekly/regular ongoing time.
We also thought it would be good to have degrees of expectation and programming. Thus at the 7-8th grade level we believe that regular Worship and regular Connection are doable and good. With opportunities to occasionally serve and be equipped.

Worship One, Serve One, Connect One?
As we evaluated the youth ministries we realized that High School students had three to four times a week they could connect but no regular time to serve the body. We also realized that by combining some of the offerings we could actually offer a stronger Connection time. Therefore our regular programming for the Middle School Student will be guided by the model Worship One Connect One.
Now with regard to the HS ministry along with God's leading with Love Out Loud we have decided to help HS youth regular serve on Sunday Mornings rather than take yet another class or have another connection time. So HS Youth will be invited to Worship One Serve One on Sunday Mornings and a invitation to Connect One on Sunday Nights.
